Om or AUM or ॐ is a sacred sound and a spiritual symbol in Sanatan Dharma. It signifies the essence of the ultimate reality, consciousness or Atman.
The syllable Om ॐ is referred to as praṇava. Other used terms are akṣara (literally, letter of the alphabet, imperishable, immutable) or ekākṣara (one letter of the alphabet) and omkāra (meaning literally "Om syllable", and connoting: a beginning and female divine energy).
The #verse describes the unique merits of ‘Om’. ----- Omkaaram Bindu Samyuktam Nityam Dhyayanti Yoginah -- Kamadam Mokshadam Chaiva Omkaraya Namo Namah.
Omkar, the sound that is always attached with the Supreme Source (Bindu) is always meditated upon by the noble souls. May the Omkar be venerated which has the power to confer all the earthly desires as well as the ultimate wealth of liberation.
#Components of Om :
Om is not a single sound; it is rather the combination of three sounds namely #A, #U and #M. These three sounds are said to represent the three processes of creation namely #creation, #sustenance and #destruction.
